Gogo inflight connectivity systems is updating its air-to-ground (ATG) network to newer technology. By 2026, Gogo will complete a full network migration to LTE (long-term evolution) technology. As an authorized dealer for Gogo Business Aviation, Clay Lacy is prepared to help you with your connectivity upgrades.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR CURRENT GOGO CUSTOMERS?
To ensure continued Gogo connectivity, Gogo’s existing customers with a “classic ATG” system onboard (ATG 1000, 2000, 4000, 5000, or 8000) will need to upgrade to an AVANCE system before the end of 2025. ATG systems will no longer provide connectivity by early 2026 when the network migration to LTE is completed. Gogo users who already have AVANCE installed are LTE-ready, and upon completion of the migration, will benefit from a significant performance boost as a result of the change:
- Up to a 40% performance increase on AVANCE L3
- Up to a 10% performance increase on AVANCE L5
With many customers lining up for their upgrade, maintenance slots can fill up quickly at repair stations. Make sure you prioritize your upgrade, so you don’t get caught scrambling for MRO space later this year. Clay Lacy Aviation operates two FAA Part 145 Repair Stations at Los Angeles’ Van Nuys Airport and Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Connecticut. Both locations are authorized Gogo dealerships and installation centers.
UPGRADING FROM ATG TO AVANCE DELIVERS IMMEDIATE BENEFITS – HERE’S WHAT GOGO CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING:
It always helps to hear directly from customers with first-hand experience. Here’s what they’re saying about upgrading to AVANCE:
AVANCE is future-ready and provides greater flexibility than traditional line replaceable units (LRUs) and enables continuous innovations such as Gogo 5G and global broadband connectivity with Gogo Galileo. AVANCE L5 unlocks the power of Gogo 5G, and, if you’re interested in worldwide broadband connectivity, all AVANCE systems will give you the ability to connect to Gogo Galileo’s LEO (low earth orbit) satellite service with the addition of a single streamlined fuselage-mounted ESA antenna.
